- Dr. Herres joined TCNJ’s psychology faculty in 2016 after earning her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Uni. of Delaware and completing a postdoc fellowship at Drexel University’s Center for Family Intervention Science
- Her work examines how emotional reactivity contributes to the development and maintenance of emotional disorders such as anxiety, depression and PTSD, with the goal of identifying targets for intervention

Lab Manager

Mikayla (she/her) is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the TCNJ. She is currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Statistics. She has a passion for researching escapism motives in distress and resilience. Her interest was fostered by her own experience using leisure activities to leverage distress. She plans to get her PhD in Clinical Psychology and pursue a career as a Clinical Sports Psychologist.

Nataly Lukonin
Nataly (she/her) is a fourth-year undergraduate student at TCNJ. She is currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Music. She has a passion for researching musical engagement and distress. She will be attending UPENN next fall for her Masters in Social Work. When she’s not on campus you can find her playing trumpet in TCNJ’s Wind Ensemble!

Jess Samborsky
Jess (she/her) is a fourth-year undergraduate student at TCNJ. She is currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with a clinical/counseling specialization. She currently is researching the relationship between sleep quality and distress in college students. She plans to get her PhD in Clinical Psychology. Jess is on the e-board for TCNJ’s Psychology Club!
Shane Mandia
Shane (he/him) is a fourth-year undergraduate student at TCNJ. He is currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with a clinical/counseling specialization. He is currently researching the relationship between SA acknowledgment and PTSD in SA victims. He plans to get his PhD in Clinical Psychology and focus on schizophrenia research. In his free time, you will catch Shane on the golf course!
Brooke (she/her) is a third-year undergraduate student at TCNJ. She is currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with minors in English and Women Gender Studies. She is currently researching relationships between social media and college students’s cognitions and behaviors. When she’s not in class, you will see Brooke in the psych office working!
Ken Odenheimer
Ken (he/him) is a fourth-year undergraduate student at TCNJ. He is currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology. He is currently researching the relationship between everyday experiences of discrimination and parental support. He plans to take the next year off and then get his Masters in Social Work. Outside of class, you will catch Ken volunteering for AVI or crocheting in the atrium!
Alyssa (they/she) is a fourth-year undergraduate student at TCNJ. They graduated this past fall semester with a B.A. in Psychology. Congrats Alyssa! She is currently taking time off before deciding on her post-grad plans! In the lab, Alyssa researched SA victimization among the autistic population.
