  • Strategies for engaging in music involvement (based on the HUMS scale)
    • Healthy Music Usage (promotes emotional well-being by fostering positive emotions)
    • Unhealthy Music Usage (uses music maladaptive and intensifies negative emotions)
  • Distress tolerance (DT) levels 

Purpose and Goals: 

  • To determine active and passive music engagement effect on DT.
  • To examine associations between unhealthy and healthy music engagement  and if it moderates the effect of active and passive music engagement on DT
  • To identify patterns of music engagement that are most beneficial to strengthen college students tolerance for distress and encompassing emotions.
